Customer Identification Program (CIP) Notice

To help the U.S. government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all U.S. financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each individual or institution that opens an account or establishes a customer relationship with PNC Capital Markets, LLC.

At account opening, PNCCM LLC collects all or some of the following information about the customer, which applies to any person, entity, or organization that is opening a new account and whose name is on the account, to include associated persons.

  • Name(s) of the person(s) opening the account; for businesses, the business name as well as the name of principal director or partner who is responsible for the account and authorized account signatories.
  • Address (must be a physical address)- PO boxes are prohibited, except that military personnel may provide an Army Post Office (APO) or Fleet Post Office (FPO) Box number.  For a person other than an individual (such as a corporation or partnership):  A principal place of business, local office, or other physical location.
  • Date of birth – Individual
  • Identification number- For a U.S. individual or entity, must be a Taxpayer Identification Number (“TIN”).   For a non- U.S. individual or entity, must be a TIN or suitable foreign identification number, such as a passport number, or other government issued ID number.

Also, Federal regulation requires us to obtain and verify the beneficial owners and control persons of legal entity customers. Requiring the disclosure of key individuals who own or control a legal entity helps law enforcement investigate and prosecute crimes. Your account may be restricted or closed if we or your Broker/Dealer cannot obtain and verify this information.
